Farsley Celtic will be looking to make it back-to-back victories this weekend, as Southport visit the Citadel.
The Celts picked up their second win of the season last time out, recording an impressive 2-0 defeat of Kidderminster Harriers to move out of the relegation zone.
However, Russ Wilcox’s side are still looking for a first home win of the season; their last success at the Citadel came against this weekend’s opponents, with Southport defeated 2-0 in April.
Like Farsley, the Sandgrounders have also made an inconsistent start to the season, and a win for the Celts would see them move above their opponents.
Despite last weekend marking just a second win of the season, it was a result the Celt Army felt had been coming based on their recent performances.
Isaac Assenso said: “We’ve been playing really well, putting in better performances and just not quite getting over the line, so I really thought it was coming.
“No one thought we were going to get that result at Kidderminster apart from us in the changing room, it’s all about belief and we have that.
“We’re absolutely buzzing in that changing room because that was really hard-fought, and we just need to build on that, there are games coming up that we believe are winnable, so it’s all about maintaining that belief and kicking on.
“We need to make our home a fortress, become really difficult to beat and start to pick up a few more results and wins, so hopefully that starts this weekend.”
TEAM NEWS
Dave Syers could return to the side after missing last week’s success at Kidderminster, whilst Lewis Butroid continues to near a return.
However, Farsley will be without Chris Atkinson who serves a one-match suspension, with Adam Clayton and Lewis Turner also doubtful through injury.
