This evening’s game carries extra significance for us all following the events of last Tuesday, which left a mark on everyone connected to the club. Our thoughts remain with Lewis and his family, and his strength and resilience continue to inspire us. Moments like these remind us of what truly matters in life and reinforce the importance of being there for one another on and off the pitch.

Tonight, we look to give opportunities to our emerging talent alongside first-team players we have brought in on loan, as well as lads who need match minutes to get up to speed. This game serves a different purpose and we will use it as development, building connections, as well aa the chance to prepare us for the challenges ahead. We do have a string of injuires at moment and our narrative is to be right for Saturday’s league game.

Emerging Talent coaches Clifton Robinson and Danny Chadwick alongside Sokii Abbas will lead the team this evening. Sometimes, in football and in life, circumstances present opportunities, and tonight is one of those moments. I have every confidence in them to lead with pride, and I encourage the whole squad to embrace the occasion, go out there, enjoy it, and strive to be the best versions of yourselves.

The pathway for our younger players is something we are deeply committed to as a club. Games like this are a chance to showcase their potential and learn from valuable experiences alongside and against more seasoned players. It is also a chance for our fans to witness the next generation of talent emerging.

Come on Celts!
