Farsley Celtic face a midweek trip to Lincolnshire as they take on Scunthorpe United under the lights
The Celts will be looking to bounce back from their weekend defeat away at Hereford where just a handful of mistakes led to a 3-0 defeat at Edgar Street despite an encouraging performance from Pav Singh’s side.
It will be another tough ask this evening however as Farsley face another promotion chasing side in the form of Scunthorpe United at the Attis Arena.
The Iron are managed by former Celts defender and Captain Andy Butler who was part of the side that helped Farsley reach the Quarter Finals of the FA Trophy for the first time in history back in the 2022/23 season.
Butler has had a strong start to life in his first full managerial role with Scunthorpe sitting in 3rd place just one point off table toppers Chorley with a game in hand.
As well as Farsley, the Iron will also be looking to bounce back from defeat with Butler’s side succumbing to a 3-2 defeat to Southport at the weekend.
Farsley Manager Pav Singh is relishing the challenge of taking on Scunthorpe, saying: “Looking forward to taking on Scunthorpe United, a strong, full-time side who will push us to our limits, and it’s a chance for us to showcase our resilience and focus.
”Scunthorpe’s quality demands our full concentration and discipline, especially after recent games where small lapses have cost us dearly.”
Singh also issued a rallying cry to his players, saying: “With injuries and a stretched squad, every player will need to step up. We know what’s needed and we bring the Farsley Celtic spirit: staying united, playing with purpose, and giving our best until the final whistle. This is our chance to prove we can stand up against tough opposition.
“Let’s rise to the challenge and show what we’re made of.”
