Farsley Celtic return to National League North football on Friday evening when the Celts host Spennymoor Town at the Horsfall Stadium
It’s back to league action for Farsley after the Celts bowed out of the FA Cup in dramatic fashion last weekend when a late Kettering winner ended the cup dream for another season.
Farsley take on Spennymoor Town in this Friday night fixture at Bradford Park Avenue’s Horsfall Stadium with Pav Singh’s side looking to recapture their strong form in the National League North after focus was switched to the FA Cup.
The Moors sit two places below Farsley in 14th and go into the match knowing that a victory in Bradford will put them above the Celts and possibly as high as 8th in the table.
Farsley boss Pav Singh is looking for a reaction to last week’s defeat, saying: “I’m looking for a big reaction from the team today, and I know the lads are ready to show what they’re capable of.
“I’d also like to extend my thanks to Bradford Park Avenue for facilitating us in what’s been a busy and important period for the club.
“As we head into today’s game against Spennymoor, it’s important we shift our focus and put last Saturday’s tough defeat against Kettering behind us. Losing to a last-minute goal is always a bitter pill to swallow, but I was proud of the way the lads showed character to get back into the game.
“While the two goals we conceded were disappointing, it’s crucial we use the experience to grow and move forward, concentrating on our league objectives.”
Singh also provided an update on the physical wellbeing of the squad ahead of the fixture, saying: “We’ve got a couple of fitness concerns ahead of today’s match, with Darren and Isaac undergoing late fitness tests.
“Both have been brilliant for us. Darren’s been a standout performer, and Isaac has given us solidity when we’ve needed it most. We’re hopeful for positive news there. Lewis is getting closer to a return, while Aiden continues his recovery following shoulder surgery.”

SPENNYMOOR TOWN
The Moors have enjoyed a mixed start to the 2024/25 season sitting in midtable as of October. Spennymoor come into the fixture off the back of a 1-0 defeat to Alfreton Town in the FA Cup. In the league, they’ve drawn their last three fixtures with Kidderminster Harriers, Warrington Town and Hereford.
LAST TIME OUT
The most recent clash between the two sides resulted in a 3-1 win for the Moors at the Brewery Field back in April. That result was preceeded by a goalless draw between the two sides at The Citadel in November 2023.
