An update on the first team squad from Farsley Celtic Chairman Paul Barthorpe

Good afternoon all! I hope this finds you well!

As some of you have commented, we have been relatively quiet since the end of the season in terms of sharing information and our activity. But that is simply because we have been really busy getting everything in order from our planning applications to our operational structure, staffing and boardroom changes (all of which I will go into in further updates to follow) and as previously stated we don’t announce anything until its completely done. No “if’s, but’s or maybe’s” only 100% finalised.

Which leads me on nicely to the reason for this update……. Our first team squad!!!

In terms of players released, we published our retention list in May, and following that we have sadly lost the services of Michael Coulson and Jordan Carroll, both due to their personal circumstances. Of which we as a club did the right thing for our players and their families, which ultimately is our priority and both players have left us on very good terms and with our best wishes!

New player signings is always the most exciting part of any close season transfer window! As a fan it is for me too, and we have been very busy!

But this year we are going to do things a little differently…

We are currently in a position where we have signed, or are either in advanced talks with, have agreed terms with and/or sent out contracts to most of our top targets! And we haven’t finished yet!

We have decided this year that we won’t be announcing the odd player here and there, we want to announce our first group of signings together and we want you to be part of it!

So next Sunday (23rd June) at 12pm at The Nest Bar at The Citadel you are all invited to join us for a meet and greet with our new players as they join us for their photos and media day! You can meet our first group of new players, have your own photos done, have a chat get to know them a little better and see what goes off behind the scenes at the club when we sign a new player.
