Farsley Celtic yesterday unveiled former Scarborough Athletic striker Michael Coulson as their latest signing – and boss Clayton Donaldson couldn’t be happier.

“Coulo is a proven goalscorer and it’s great to get him over the line. I’m delighted to have him on board, particularly given the injuries we have had of late. We’ve been lacking a bit of experience up front in the past few games and Michael will offer us something different.

“He knows a few of the players here already and I hope he will settle in really quickly.”

Michael is known for his goalscoring – he was Scarborough’s top scorer last season with 16 in all competitions – and also his work ethic.

“He’ll add extra strength to the squad  and is a great addition, both on and off the pitch.”

Today’s match at Peterborough Sports would have seen Michael joining the squad for the first time – but the game was called off yesterday due to a frozen pitch.

November has been a busy month, where we have suffered only one League defeat, at the hands of Darlington at home at the beginning of the month. Since then, the Celts have notched wins against Boston and Buxton and draws against Southport, Spennymoor and most recently Hereford.

Farsley’s recent improved league form and their impressive away day return has yielded five wins and 17 points on the road this season.

“Ideally when you’re on a good run you like the games to keep coming,” Clayton admitted. “The belief is back and adding a new striker like Michael is another big boost. Our away form has been excellent this season and  everyone is on a high in the dressing room.”

Next Saturday is a blank fixture due to our elimination from the FA Trophy and we won’t be back in action until the rearranged National League North fixture with Curzon Ashton at the Citadel on Tuesday, 12 December (7.45pm kick off).
