Farsley Celtic Deaf ended West Point FC’s unbeaten run with their best performance of the season, running out 3-1 winners in the West Riding FA’s Flexi League match.
Goalscorers for Farsley were K. Anderson, C. Bojas and D. Rea.
Head of Deaf Football Paul Young said: “We put in our best performance and deserved our win. I was very proud of the team and their performance against difficult opposition.”
The win came after a mixed batch of results in the league and cup in recent weeks.
Our deaf team played FC Pudsey in the LDFC Challenge Cup R2 and lost 2-1, despite taking a lead after two minutes. It was a typical cup match where both teams battled for a win.
We also played away to Carlisle Deaf FC in the EDF North League (England Deaf Football) and won 12-0 and followed it up by beating Bulls FC 3-2 in the West Riding FA Flexi League.
