Farsley Celtic will continue their pre-season preparations on Thursday when they visit Silsden AFC.
It’s another opportunity for a new-look Farsley team to build match fitness as well as gel together before the start of the Vanarama National League North 2023/24 season which starts on Saturday 6 August.
The Celts opened their pre-season campaign with a 1-1 draw away at Northern Premier League side Brighouse Town on Saturday with plenty of positives for head coach Clayton Donaldson’s team.
Our hosts on Thursday, Silsden AFC, are members of the Northern Counties East League Premier Division in the ninth tier of English football.
The side based in Keighley will play the first of their pre-season matches tonight when they take on Ilkley Town before facing Farsley on Thursday night.
It’s an ideal opportunity for players in the Farsley squad to gain some minutes for the tank ahead of a grueling National League North season spanning 46 matches.
TEAM NEWS
Like with the Brighouse match, the Farsley team on Thursday will likely contain several trialists as Clayton Donaldson and his coaching team evaluate their squad options ahead of the new season.
