Farsley Celtic welcome Buxton to the Citadel on Tuesday evening, for what is a vital fixture towards the bottom of the National League North.
Whilst the Celts find themselves in the relegation zone, third from bottom, 20th-placed Buxton sit just five points clear of Farsley, having played two games more.
That means that tomorrow’s clash has the feeling of a potential ‘six-pointer’, with Buxton having the opportunity to pull clear of the drop zone, whilst Farsley could be breathing down their opponents’ necks come 10pm on Tuesday.
Farsley have been out of action for 10 days, following the postponements of home meetings with Leamington and Brackley Town, and in that time the Bucks have played twice, losing 1-0 to both AFC Fylde and Hereford.
Russ Wilcox heads into this game with a squad as strong as it has been all season, and a squad that has made the Citadel a difficult place to come for visiting sides.
Speaking after last weekend’s victory over Marske, Kian Scales said: “Like Russ has been saying there’s competition for places and there are lads that have been doing well that were on the bench today and can come on, and they did well again.
“There’s competition and that can only be a good thing for the lads that have been playing because they know they’ve got to keep playing well or they’ll be brought off and a new lad can come in and take their place.
“Especially after Park Avenue where we should have won that game, and it was disappointing against Hereford, to score seven goals and get a good performance back under our belts, confidence going up going into the next game, it’s only going to do us favours.”
TEAM NEWS
Russ Wilcox should have a fully healthy side to pick from for the second consecutive game.
