Farsley Celtic will be aiming to make it nine games unbeaten in the National League North when they visit Scunthorpe United on Boxing Day.
The Celts are unbeaten since early November and go into the match full of confidence after beating Gloucester City on Saturday, despite being reduced to ten men.
“Gloucester was a massive win for us,” said assistant coach Danny Ellis. “A lot of things happened in that game – we had a lot of chances, their goalkeeper’s made at least two great saves, we had a man sent off which was unfortunate and there were a lot of incidents. It was a bit of a mad game!
“Eight matches unbeaten in the league is phenomenal. The lads have dug in. We’ve had to change the team around and mix the squad up a little, keep lads fresh and manage a few little niggly injuries, but everyone who comes in has done well.
“We know Scunthorpe will be a tough couple of games over the festive period, but we can look forward to it. We’re full of confidence.
“Boxing Day is going to be a massive occasion for the players and the fans. It’s at their place, so there should be a big crowd and it’s one we can definitely look forward to.”
