All at Farsley Celtic are deeply saddened by the loss of one of our Vice Presidents, Margaret Lobley, who sadly passed away earlier this week.
Margaret (pictured on the the right alongside John and Margaret Palmer) was everything about what a football volunteer should be. Over the years she acted as Club Secretary for many years, being involved at the club during our years of Promotion to the then Football Conference Premier, as well as many before.
When the club reformed in 2010, alongside Margaret Palmer, she looked after the half time hospitality at the club with great accord, making some really special cakes for those who she knew well, and even those that she didn’t!
Although she hadn’t been able to attend many games in the last few years, she has always kept a very keen interest in the comings and goings at ‘The Nest’. She made many calls to myself and the rest of the board – and certainly kept us all on our feet!
We wish all the best to son Hayden and the wider family, who commented ‘It is with great sadness that we (have) lost our beloved Mum, Grandma and Great Grandma, (She was) Mrs Farsley Celtic. She passed away peacefully holding the hands of all that loved her.
It is with great sadness that today we have to announce the loss of someone that was truly ‘one of our own’. A great person, a wonderful friend, and most of all a wonderful Supporter of all things Farsley Celtic.
Rest in Peace Margaret.
