Saturday marked the end of a difficult season for the club – and as a board we know this summer is going to be a very busy one.
We’d like to reiterate our sincere thanks to our young players and David Stockdale and his staff who have come in and given 100% for the club over the past few months. Our thanks also to our supporters and volunteers who have continued to make a difference. Your support and help is very much appreciated.
We’d also like to congratulate our women’s team, who finished third in their league, and our ETS side who currently sit in second place in the NLFA North. Our award-winning deaf side also continued to impress this season.
As a board we have a lot of work to do this summer. One of our top priorities is to stabilise the club’s finances and allow David Stockdale to bring in new players for the new season. As David said in his update on Friday, he has already been speaking to potential targets as we prepare for life in the Northern Premier League.
Our pre-season fixtures have also been prepared by David.
As we stated earlier this month, we have been busy on the commercial front and have already secured a number of sponsorships for next season.
Floodlights
We are delighted to confirm that a planning application to replace our eight ageing floodlight pylons with four new pylons was last week submitted to Leeds City Council for consideration.
Our current floodlights are ageing, inefficient and costly to run and repair. It’s clear we need to replace them with a more modern and energy efficient LED system, and we have teamed up with GrassRoots Power, an FA-accredited community interest company, to draw up the floodlighting plans.
If the planning application is successful we will seek grant funding to install the new lights. The plans can be viewed here.
Pitch
As we said in our last update, an application to the Football Foundation towards funding a new grass pitch has been submitted, and we will hear the outcome in June.
Our aim is to be back playing in Farsley as soon as we can.
We know there is a lot of work to do this summer before we get to next season.
We will keep you updated with developments whenever we have something concrete to report.
We’d like to thank you again for your ongoing support.
