Neil Redfearne’s first game in charge ended a scoreless draw in a game that was the result of excellent goalkeeping and missed opportunities.
The Celts started the game well as Isaac Abankwah beat his man numerous times down the right flank causing problems for the visitors.
Robbie Fox started the game brightly as well, firing shots from all angles calling Atherton into action twice in the first 15 minutes.
The Celts looked a threat on the break and Cole Hyde was causing problems and he forced the first yellow card of the game on the 24th minute as he broke before being cynically taken out by Hont.
It took the visitors 31 minutes to register their first shot on target which required an excellent save from Flavell to keep it out as a cross was headed towards the bottom left corner, making it look as if Flavell had been beaten.

The Celts responded with two quick attacks of their own with the first coming down the right allowing Joao Silva to get a shot away just inside the box which went wide.

In the 66th minute the visitors had their best chance of the game as O’Neill again fired a shot from range which was well saved before the ball came back in, being turned onto the crossbar which would prove to be as close as either team would come to a goal.
As time wound down both teams launched all our assaults on goal with neither team able to get clear chances due to some good last ditch defending on both sides.
