Farsley Celtic fell to a 3-0 defeat to Hereford at Edgar Street on Saturday
Farsley started the game well and had decent spells of possession until the 15th minute when a corner from Hereford wasn’t cleared and Ahkeem Rose was able to get the finishing touch to open the scoring .
The Celts’ sole chance of the first half came through Campton-Sturridge as he got in behind the Hereford defence before taking a shot but the angle was tight and the keeper had it covered.
Eight minutes before the break Hereford doubled their lead as a cross came in from the right hand side. Ceesay arrived late at the back post to meet the cross and guide it into the opposite corner.
2-0 to Hereford at the break.
Early in the second half Rose again found himself with a chance as he was one on one with Wooster but his effort was wide of the mark.
Again, Farsley’s best chance of the second half came through Campton-Sturridge as Wooster claimed a corner before throwing it out to the forward on the halfway mark as he took on and beat his man but his chipped effort over the keeper trickled agonisingly wide.
Then in the 75th minute Hereford put it to bed as they won the ball back in Farsley’s half and Rose again was involved as he pulled the ball back for substitute Andy Williams to score into an empty net.
Full time at Edgar Street 3-0 Hereford.
The Celts are on the road again on Tuesday evening when they make the trip to Lincolnshire to face top of the table Scunthorpe United.
