Farsley Celtic captain Chris Atkinson is looking ahead to Saturday’s home game against Scarborough Athletic with confidence.

Two tricky games brought a narrow 2-0 home defeat against in-form Scunthorpe and a creditable 0-0 draw at playoff hopefuls Curzon Ashton last Saturday, in a game we arguably shouldn’t have won.

“We had some really good chances in the first half, hitting the post a couple of times, and we had some good shouts for penalties which were penalties in my opinion!” said Chris.

“We carried on playing well in the second half but couldn’t find the goal we deserved. It was still a very good point away from home against a good side, but we felt we deserved all three.”

Onto Saturday’s game and the skipper is expecting a tough one – but says the Celts remain full of confidence following some strong performances.

He said: “Scarborough are flying at the minute, unbeaten in their last six and sitting third in the table.

“We have played them a few times already this season so we know how they play. We put in a great performance away from home against them and took all three points. We will be looking to do the same again on Saturday.

“We are playing well and are looking to really kick on now, coming into the business end of the season!”
