A 2-0 win against South Shields on Friday saw the boys retain their unbeaten record and they sit proudly in second place in the NLFA North Division.

Skipper Will Morrisey, 16, is pleased with the start the side has made. He said: “We have competed very well so far against some difficult opponents but I think now it’s just about staying consistent through tough fixtures and getting results.”

Will and the squad are now turning their attention to Wednesday’s first round FA Youth Cup tie at Stockport County.

“Yeah, obviously it’s a big occasion for the boys, probably the biggest game of most of our careers,” said Will. “But I think we will use this to our advantage and give everything to win.

“As a squad we are more than capable of coming away with the win and the belief is there within the boys.”

Will was also on the bench for the first team’s FA Cup replay against Scarborough in December and made his debut as a second half substitute.
