Farsley Celtic will welcome National League opposition to The Citadel for the second time of pre-season on Tuesday evening as York City make the trip to West Yorkshire.
It’s the final time that Farsley will play at The Citadel before the start of the National League North season Saturday 5 August, with the Celts’ final friendly taking place away at Nethermoor Park on Saturday 29 July against Guiseley AFC.
Farsley put in a much more positive performance last time out, narrowly losing to Huddersfield Town B 1-2 with winger Marley Blair scoring his first goal for the club after joining from the Icelandic Premier League.
Clayton Donaldson, who comes up against his former club tomorrow evening, will be encouraged by the stronger performance as the new squad continues to bond and gel together with a new-look style being integrated.
Our visitors have enjoyed a successful pre-season campaign so far, with The Minstermen most recently defeating Tadcaster Albion 4-0 after a 1-0 win over League 2 side Doncaster Rovers.
On Tuesday’s fixture, Farsley Head Coach Clayton Donaldson said: “I’m really looking forward to seeing both sets of supporters and I hope it’s an enjoyable game for you all.”
Donaldson also spoke about how he had found settling in at The Citadel: “I’ve settled into my new environment really well and this has been helped by everyone connected to the club helping me to do so and I can’t thank them enough.”
