We are delighted to announce the signing of Conor Branson from Alfreton Town!

After initially coming through the ranks at Barnsley and appearing for Guiseley, Conor spent time in the United States playing for Charleston Gold Eagles and Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC before coming back to England where he has since represented Bradford Park Avenue, Altrincham and most recently Alfreton Town.

As well as holding a UEFA A license, Conor is known for his robust defending style and passing range which helps him operate not only as a defender, but a midfielder too.

Director of football Pav Singh said :

“Conor’s playing record at this level and above is superb, he is a name that all fans at this level are aware of and undoubtedly would love in their team!

“He is a strong combative, ball playing midfielder and defender, he has power, composure and a superb array of passing. His level of consistency as a top performer is testament to his conditioning and footballing brain.

“When we first identified this as a position we were looking to strengthen, myself and the chairman both came up with the same name as our first choice. Not only will he compliment the other players in our squad, but he gives that security and reassurance with his performances that allows the other players around him to flourish.”

Chairman Paul Barthorpe stated :

“Conor is in my opinion without doubt one of the best players in this league, and was one of our top targets for this summer, and we are delighted to have secured his signature! We believe that this is a firm sign of intent by the club as to our ambitions for next season, Conor is a winner and as well as bringing that mentality to the club with him, he wouldn’t be joining a team that looks like it’s going to struggle this season.

“He can operate as either a central defender or as a defensive midfielder, and being a consistent top performer in both of those positions means his versatility is truly invaluable when it comes to formational decisions and changes during game time. He offers something new to the squad in terms of his playing style and ability and fits perfectly with the clubs strategy around player recruitment and strategy implementation.

“He is a leader on the pitch, and in the dressing room and will be a huge asset to the club for the future!”

Welcome to Farsley, Conor!
