Farsley Celtic will be aiming for a third-straight victory when they make the short trip to Bradford (Park Avenue) on Boxing Day.

Victories over King’s Lynn Town and Chester saw the Celts earn back-to-back successes for the first time this season, albeit the win against Chester came via penalties.

Farsley can also take confidence from the fact they have already tasted success at the Horsfall Stadium this season, triumphing 2-1 in the FA Trophy back in November.

The two festive fixtures between the West Yorkshire rivals mark two integral games as the season reaches its halfway point, with Avenue sitting six points above the Celt Army, having played two more games.

For the hosts, whose form has certainly picked up since their slow start to the season, this will be their first competitive outing since December 5, whilst Farsley did get 90 minutes under their belts on Tuesday.

Ahead of the trip to Bradford, Russ Wilcox said: “We know Bradford quite well, we’ve played them already. He’s done a fantastic job there, you have to say that, an unbelievable job, and it gives us hope in the position we’re in in the league.

“Everybody sort of wrote them off in the early part of the season, after 10 games I think they had six points.

“So you’ve got to keep that belief, we beat King’s Lynn, we got through (against Chester), so that’s two really positive results.”
