Farsley Celtic return to Vanarama National League North this weekend with Spennymoor Town the visitors to the Citadel.
The Celts are still looking for a first win at home this season, with Russ Wilcox’s side having collected four of their six points on the road.
However, there have certainly been positive signs of late, with impressive performances on the road earning draws at Blyth Spartans and AFC Fylde.
In Spennymoor Town, Farsley welcomes a side currently in a period of flux, with Managers Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley relieved of their duties earlier this week, and Jason Ainsley taking temporary charge for the weekend.
Looking ahead to this weekend’s contest, Russ Wilcox said: “The performances here have been good even though we haven’t won yet this season; we should have, but we haven’t, and that’s sport, that’s how football goes sometimes.
“Of course, you are concerned physicality-wise, Spennymoor haven’t had a game midweek, so it’ll be a tough ask, but the lads are giving everything, I can’t ask any more of them.”
The Farsley boss is aware of the task of going up a side who have had a change of manager, as he continued: “You always seem to get a reaction, I like to think that I got a reaction last year when I came in against Chorley.
“So it’s the same old story. There’ll be players in that dressing room that haven’t figured who’ll be champing at the bit to get back in, some will be pleased they’ve left, some will be unhappy that they’ve left, but that’s how football works.
“It’ll be another tough game.”
Farsley will be able to welcome Bobby Pointon, Kian Scales and Thabang Dube back into the fold after they were unavailable in the Emirates FA Cup.
However, Lewis Turner will miss out through suspension having accumulated five cautions this season, whilst Lewis Butroid continues his recovery from injury.
