Experienced centre-half Andy Butler joined the Celts in summer 2022, after spending last season at Boston United. He brings almost 700 professional appearances in the Football League with him.

The 38-year-old had spells in the professional game with Scunthorpe United, Huddersfield Town, Sheffield United, Walsall and Doncaster Rovers, plus loan moves with Grimsby Town and Blackpool.

The Doncaster-born man has also taken the step into coaching in recent years, with spells at Doncaster Rovers and Peterborough United before he became the Manager of Doncaster Rovers Belles.

He departed the Belles earlier this summer to take up a full-time coaching role in the Scunthorpe Academy, which he will do alongside his playing duties.
