Players and coaching staff are looking ahead to tonight’s big FA Youth Cup tie at Edgeley Park, the home of Stockport County.

It’s a massive achievement for this newly formed team to reach this stage, after beating Wythenshawe, Staveley Miners Welfare and Stocksbridge Park Steels in the qualifying rounds.

ETS coach Luke Dean said: “We have spent the week preparing for the Stockport County game. The lads have been positive and are looking forward to the game. It should be a great experience for them.”

Director of football Pav Singh said: “It is a great achievement for the lads to get to the first round proper, and their parents should be proud of their achievements.

“The lads have been working extremely hard throughout the campaign. My hope for tonight is that they will be the best versions of themselves and enjoy themselves. There is no pressure on them.”

Pav added he was delighted to see all the ETS squad at last night’s first team game against Boston, to see a ‘great performance and result’.

Skipper Will Morrisey, 16, said the players are looking forward to the trip to Stockport. He added: “Obviously it’s a big occasion for the boys, probably the biggest game of most of our careers,” said Will. “But I think we will use this to our advantage and give everything to win.

“As a squad we are more than capable of coming away with the win and the belief is there within the boys.”
