We are delighted to announce the appointment of Neil Redfearn as the new Farsley Celtic manager!

Neil will be assisted by the return of Pav Singh to the club!

Neil needs very little introduction with a playing career of over 1000 games, almost 800 of which were in the EFL as well as over 20 years of managing experience at clubs such as York City, Rotherham United and of course Leeds United!

We received a huge number of applicants for the role, many of whom were really stand out candidates. But Neil’s experience, quality, knowledge of the game, his positivity and affiliation to Leeds and the local area made him the right choice for us!

He will be assisted by Pav Singh, who has worked with Neil before at Leeds United. Having left the club a week ago, Pav has decided that his love and passion for the club, the project, the players and the fans is too great to walk away from completely. This role will allow Pav to find a better work life balance and still have a significant involvement in the club he loves.

Chairman Paul Bathorpe stated: “We are absolutely delighted to be able to welcome Neil to the club, a manager of his reputation, standing in the game and his obvious qualities will help us achieve what we want to achieve!

“What can I say about Pav that I haven’t already said in recent weeks, not only a close friend but Mr Farsley Celtic himself. His unwavering loyalty and commitment to the club is beyond question! I am really happy to welcome him back. We all know the values and qualities he brings, his partnership with Neil will push this club to a new level!

“These appointments are a statement of intent for this club, in terms of where we are, who we are, and what our goals are! There has been a lot of doubt and uncertainty around the club, and a lot of things said about me. Actions speak louder than words and I hope this action (the first of many to come) will help to restore some of that faith!”

Neil has said : “I’m looking forward to the challenge and helping to progress and evolve Farsley Celtic FC. I know the history of football in Leeds and how proud everyone is at Farsley to be part of that history.”

The retuning Pav Singh added: “After taking a step back for a period of self-reflection and quality time with my family, I’ve come to realise that my love for this club, its community, the players, and the coaches is simply too strong to walk away from. This isn’t just a club to me, it’s home.

“During this time, I had an inspiring conversation with Neil Redfearn, someone I deeply admire and respect. Our bond, forged during our time at Leeds United, has always remained strong, and his encouragement reignited a fire within me. Following that, I spoke with Paul, and the decision became crystal clear it was a no-brainer.

“My attachment to this club is unconditional. It goes beyond wins and losses; it’s about the people, the shared vision, and the belief in what we can achieve together. This is more than loyalty it’s a commitment to help this club and its community thrive, no matter the challenges. I’m ready to give everything once again, and together, we will move forward stronger than ever!”

The club will be releasing a positive statement next week relating to the pitch!
