Firstly, a very merry Christmas to everyone associated with the club, players, staff, fans, and volunteers. This time of year is a chance to reflect on the importance of community, and I’ve seen first-hand how much this club means to so many. Despite the challenges we’ve faced, there’s a real sense of togetherness with the squad and management team. The Brackley game showed this. I had the pleasure of catching up with Lewis last week, and it’s fantastic to report that he’s in good spirits, sending his best to everyone at the club.

Squad Update

The festive period is always tough, but this year it’s hitting us particularly hard with injuries. It’s been a busy few days for me trying to pull a squad together with more names added to the list: Conor Branson and Bailey Sloane joining Isaac Assenso, Dylan Youmbi and Darren Stephenson on the sidelines. We didn’t get centre back Aaron Pickles over the line who was on loan. Aaron has done well with us and it’s something I am keen to pursue again. I will update in the next few days on this as well.

However, I’m delighted to announce some reinforcements:

• Jack Leckie (Hull City): A central defender no stranger to the club.
• Stan Ashbee (Hull City): A talented left-sided centre-back.
• Mo Fadara (York City): A pacey forward joining us on loan.
• Justin Iwobi: Former Halifax player, standing at 6’4”, joins us on a non-contract basis.

With loan restrictions allowing only five in the matchday squad, we’ll have to manage the lineup carefully. With Finn O’Boyle and goalkeeper Keiren Flavell already on loan, some adjustments will be necessary, but I have full confidence in the players stepping up.

Looking Ahead

Despite the hurdles, our recent performances against Buxton and Brackley show that we can make life difficult for teams higher in the table. We’ve demonstrated intent and resilience, and I’m confident we can build on those displays today.

Thank you for your continued support, it means everything to the players and staff. Let’s carry that positivity into today’s game and keep moving forward together.

Enjoy the match and the festive season!
