Farsley Celtic defender Lewis Turner and forward Joao Silva have both joined Ossett United on loan.

Experienced defender Lewis, who is also comfortable in midfield, only recently returned to full first team training after missing the whole of the Celts’ 2023-24 campaign so far with serious injury.

Exciting youngster Joao Silva has this season broken into the first team squad, making 13 league and cup starts and five substitute appearances. Joao also scored the 77th-minute winner in our 2-1 National League North win at Scarborough in October.

Both players leave for a one-month loan at the Northern Premier League side.

Director of football Pav Singh said: “Both players leave in search of game time. Lewis is coming back from a serious injury and operation and the move will help him get back to full match fitness.

“Joao’s an exciting young player who has already played for our first team and the move will boost his development and give him some extra minutes on the pitch.

“We’re pleased to be working closely with another local club in Ossett United, who we have an excellent relationship with.”

Good luck, Lewis and Joao.
