Farsley Celtic’s pre-season continues on Saturday with the visit of Huddersfield Town to The Citadel.
It’s the second of three big pre-season matches at The Citadel, after Farsley were defeated 4-0 by National League side Halifax Town on Saturday, with the Celts now set to face Neil Warnock’s Huddersfield Town, before taking on York City on Tuesday evening.
Clayton Donaldson’s side are now halfway through their pre-season preparations, with two draws away at Brighouse Town and Silsden AFC coming before the defeat at home to Halifax. With every match however, the squad has been gaining match fitness as well as continuing to gel together.
Our visitors are also three matches into their pre-season campaign, defeating Bodmin Town and Liskeard Athletic 9-0 and 13-1 respectively, with a 0-0 draw with Tavistock AFC in between those victories.
Huddersfield also face Stockport County on the same day as The Citadel clash, meaning they are set to field two different teams for the day.
It’s another opportunity for the new-look Farsley squad to test themselves against higher league opposition as well as build fitness and connections among themselves ahead of the long National League North season.
TEAM NEWS
The Celts have Darren Stephenson back after the forward returned to the squad in the Halifax Town match after missing the game with Silsden AFC due to a knock.
