We are delighted to announce the signing of pacey forward Darren Stephenson!
The Jamaican came through the youth system at Bradford City where he eventually made his debut.
Renowned for his pace and power, Darren’s versatility allows him to play both on the wing as well as a forward.
After having made his debut for Bradford he has also appeared for Southport, Chorley, Tranmere Rovers, AFC Fylde, Stockport County, Curzon Ashton and Chester FC.
On the signing of Stephenson, director of football Pav Singh said: “Darren is the kind of player all clubs want to have; power, pace, ability on and off the ball and an eye for goal.
“We knew the striking combination we wanted, so we are delighted to have gotten that over the line.
“Darren is a superb professional with a great attitude and dedication to the game. He is in superb condition and will hit the ground running.
“His skill set gives us so many options in terms of tactics, passages of play and formations as well as being the perfect foil for Clayton.
“Darren is also a genuinely nice guy and his desire to come to the club made this a perfect deal all round for us!”
“Farsley Chairman Paul Barthorpe said: “Darren brings a whole new dimension to our game with his power, striking ability and quite frankly ridiculous pace which means he is without doubt a multiple threat player.
“A hugely exciting talent possessing a skill set that I have not seen in a player at Farsley in my time at the club.
“We recognised that last season at times we needed more firepower in the attacking third, and we have moved to address that. We believe that Clayton and Darren provide power, pace a huge physical presence and proven ability to create and score goals.
“This was the combination of players that we identified as being our first choice pairing, their skill sets compliment each other very well, and we are delighted to have now secured them both! His potential partnership with Clayton up front is one that excites me greatly and I can not wait to see it happen!
As with all of our new recruits, ability on the pitch is crucial but also the personality off of it. I think our fans will really enjoy getting to know Darren, and he will be one of the more popular players at the club!”
Welcome to Farsley, Darren!
