Farsley Celtic travel to play Kinsley Boys this Sunday as they aim to make it 14 league wins in a row and extend their lead at the top of the table.

Celts skipper Lauren Rigby says her side are looking forward to getting back into action against Kinsley after having a few weeks off, and is expecting Kinsley to be eager to finish their season off with a positive result against the league leaders.

“I think the squad is feeling very ready for Sunday given we’ve had a couple of weeks without a game,” said Rigby.

“We will be looking to carry forward our high tempo and positive momentum from training to the match, hopefully coming away with all three points.

“Kinsley are a high-spirited team that we’ve faced a few times. Sunday is their last game of the season so I’m sure they’ll be raring to go.”

Farsley are temporarily under the management of Matt Jackson and Izzy Rhodes after the departure of previous manager Jamie Sykes, however, Rigby says not a lot has changed and the team remains positive.

She continued: “Not a lot has changed, to be honest. Matt and Izzy have been there from the start for a lot of us and have supported the team through the whole season, and last year.

“They know us as players very well and are well-respected by the girls too. They trust us, and we trust them.

“We’re all pushing in the same direction, and it feels very positive and together for me at the moment.”

The reverse fixture against Kinsley Boys finished 10-0 and kickstarted this remarkable campaign for the Celts.

Rigby says she is proud of all her side has achieved so far and is looking to end the season in style.

“We’ve had a few new players throughout the season so it’s always interesting to see where a squad can take you.

“The team this season has been strong and successful thus far, so I think however the season plays out, we can be proud and positive about what we have achieved.

I’ve played alongside some of the girls for a long time and so I have every faith in them to do the business. We are a team and work hard for one another. I am very proud of them all.”
