Pav took over as manager of Farsley in September 2024 Alongside his managerial duties, Pav also serves as Farsley’s Director of Football, showcasing his multifaceted leadership within the club.
A highly qualified UEFA A Licence coach and player developer , Pav brings a wealth of experience to his roles. His journey in football began as a promising player, featuring for Leeds United as a schoolboy and progressing through Bradford City’s youth ranks. Unfortunately, his playing career took a turn when he suffered a serious leg injury at 18 during a game against Scunthorpe. Pav made a determined comeback at Farsley Celtic, where he had deep ties as a junior and reserve team player under the mentorship of Eugene Lacy. He later progressed to the first team, playing under notable managers Denis Metcalfe, Martin Harsign, and coaches Gary Chapman and Jim Mackay.
Pav’s playing career included stints at Harrogate Town, Thackley, Albion Sports, and Liversedge, building a robust foundation for his future coaching career.
Off the pitch, Pav has established himself as a leading figure in football development. Currently, he is employed full-time by the Football Association as the Regional Coach Developer Lead for the North East and Yorkshire. His coaching credentials include roles within the youth development systems of Leeds United and Bradford City. Pav has also managed and assisted Albion Sports and Liversedge, guiding both clubs to promotion during his tenure.
Pav’s coaching influence extends beyond club football. He has contributed to England C’s coaching setup and played a pivotal role in creating innovative development programs such as the Emerging Talent Scholarship, Farsley B Team, U23s, and U16/15s talent squads. His commitment to nurturing coaches, young talent and building pathways for emerging players and coaches transitioning from playing to coaching has made a lasting impact across multiple levels of the game.
