Now Farsley’s longest-serving player, Chris Atkinson has been with the Celt Army since January 2017, when he initially joined us on loan from Salford City. Chris was appointed the club’s captain ahead of the 2023/24 season.
The Halifax born midfielder started his career with Huddersfield Town, having been with the Academy since he was seven years of age.
He made his first team debut in the FA Cup win over Macclesfield Town in November 2010 and was loaned out several times before signing ‘permanently’ for Crewe Alexandra in 2014. Chris made 37 first team appearances for the Gresty Road side over the next two seasons and made the move to Moor Lane in October 2016 joining Salford City.
