We are delighted to announce the signing of attacker Marley Blair!
Marley started off his career by coming through the Liverpool Academy before moving onto Burnley to play for their U21’s before making the move to the Icelandic premier league where he has played for the last three seasons.
For those of you who recognise the surname, Marley’s uncle Andy Blair is a former Farsley Celtic Midfielder from the late 90’s and early noughties.
Farsley Chairman Paul Barthorpe said: “This is probably a first for Farsley, in recruiting a player directly from the Icelandic Premier League, but it’s a testament to our scouting and player recruitment team that we have been able to not only identify talented players from far and wide but have been able to bring them to the club too.
“Marley fits our player profile, in that he is a powerful and direct young player, with a strong pedigree and with the added bonus that he can hit the ground running as the Icelandic season has been underway since May”
Pav Singh Director of Football stated: “Marley is an exciting attacking player, who is happy to take on defenders and is a good finisher.
“He can play as an attacking midfielder or anywhere across the front three, which gives us great flexibility in tactics and style of play.
!His style of play complements the other attacking players we have in the squad.”
Marley goes straight into todays squad for the game at Brighouse Town.
Welcome to Farsley, Marley!
