Happy New Year to everyone connected with the club. As we enter 2025, I’d like to take a moment to send our deepest condolences to the Watson family. Our thoughts are with you, Ryan. Your father, Steve, was the epitome of a football man, passionate, proud, and always generous with his time to share stories and talk football. He was a wonderful person, and I have no doubt Ryan will continue his dad’s legacy in the game.
Reflecting on recent matches, the squad has shown remarkable resilience and determination. Over the last three games, the performances have been encouraging, capped off by a fantastic result against Curzon Ashton. That match highlighted the strength of character within the group, and credit must go to the players and management team Chris, Sokii and Darren for digging deep when it mattered most.
It’s also been great to see our loan players settling in so well. Finn O’Boyle with a brace and Stan Ashbee have quickly adjusted to our principles and are already making an impact, which bodes well for the challenges ahead.
Looking ahead to today’s game, we know Radcliffe will provide a tough test, as every game in this league feels like a cup final. League positions mean very little as results have shown throughout the season when teams step onto the pitch, every match is a battle and cup final. You can’t take anyone lightly and it’s all about fine margins.
On a positive note, we welcome back Dylan Youmbi, who is fit and ready to return, as well as Darren Stephenson, who is making progress in overcoming his Achilles injury. Additionally, Bailey Sloane, who missed the Curzon Ashton game, is available for selection today. Their returns are a timely boost as we head into this important fixture.
Thank you for your ongoing support. Let’s continue to show what this squad is capable of as we push forward together.
Enjoy the game
