Farsley Celtic are in FA Cup action for the first time this season today as the Celts travel to Sheffield to take on Hallam FC

It’s the first game for the Celts in the competition since they bowed out in the Second Qualifying Round last season after a 3-0 loss away at Scarborough Athletic in a replay.

Farsley will be looking to reach the third round of qualifying for the first time in four years, equalling their furthest run in the competition.

The Celts are hosted by Northern Counties East Premier Division side Hallam FC who play at Sandygate which is officially recognised as the World’s Oldest Football Ground.

They’re managed by Craig Denton who has found lots of success with the Sheffield side, and they’ll be looking to advance to the Third Qualifying Round for the first time in 67 years.

Farsley Celtic Manager Pav Singh is relishing the challenge of being in charge of his first FA Cup fixture, saying: “First and foremost, our deepest condolences go out to Paul and the family following the sad news of Sarah’s passing. Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time.

“Additionally, as we continue forward, we remain focused and committed to the journey ahead, supporting one another both on and off the pitch.

“We’re looking forward to todays FA Cup tie and I have been very impressed with how Hallam have started this season, especially their fine run in the FA Cup. Credit to Craig for setting up a real unit; they play to their strengths, and it’s clear to see the impact of his work. We’re ready to disrupt that with the players we have and the form we’ve shown in the last two games.

“The atmosphere and excitement that the FA Cup brings is something special, and we can’t wait to experience it. A big thank you to our incredible fans who traveled to Southport and Needham Market—you’re truly a part of us, and your support is immense. Let’s keep this momentum going!”
