It was defeat on the road for Farsley Celtic as they fell to a 1-0 loss at Peterborough Sports.

Dan Jarvis’ goal early on in the second half was the difference between the sides in a game that the hosts generally had control of.

Farsley’s shot stopper Zan-Luk Leban pulled off a string of good saves in the early encounters to keep Farsley level, denying several efforts from Josh McCammon and Mark Jones.

The visitors’ first chance of the game came 22 minutes in when Ben Atkinson flashed an effort just over the bar from inside the box.

Farsley had a further half-chance on 34 minutes when Darren Stephenson hustled well to win the ball on the edge of the box but his attempted through-ball to Michael Coulson wasn’t accurate enough and instead went through to Peter Crook in the Peterborough goal.

Despite struggling to make a mark on the first half, the Celt Army started the second half brightly with Crook having to make two strong saves to deny Ryan Watson and Connor Branson in the opening minutes.

But the hosts did break the deadlock on 53 minutes as the ball was squared to Jarvis, who hammered the ball home from the edge of the box.

Leban was called into action again on 62 minutes as he denied Brandon Njoku, keeping Farsley in the encounter.

And the Celt Army had shouts for a penalty when Danny Ellis went to ground in the box two minutes from time, but referee Jack Bloxham waved away the claims.

The result keeps Farsley just inside the bottom four, on goal difference, with the final two games of the season against Darlington and Buxton still to be played.
