Farsley Celtic slipped to their heaviest home defeat of the season in a game where they never got going.
Visitors Rushall Olympic dominated from the off, and a double from Owen Oseni combined with Owen Farmer and Jordaan Brown’s first goals for the club saw them ease to a victory which could have been even bigger. Conor Branson scored the home side’s goal with their only shot on target.
The Celts were missing four defenders – Lewis Turner, Isaac Assenso, Tom Allan and Rudy Misambo – and their makeshift backline were always up against it.
Rushall started brightly and found themselves ahead on 28 minutes through the lively Owen Oseni. Five minutes later the lead was doubled when Jordaan Brown found the net from close range following some sloppy defending.
A superb save from Zan-Luk Leban denied Oseni his brace after the forward ran though just before half time. His follow up was deflected wide for a corner.
Farsley got themselves back in it thanks to a rare moment of quality.
The ball was knocked forward to Conor Branson just inside the area. He steadied himself before unleashing an absolute pearler of a finish into the top right corner. Farsley seemed to be back in the game.
Eight minutes later Oseni restored Rushall’s two-goal cushion and a fourth goal saw Rushall out of sight. The visitors had further opportunities to extend their lead, and Oseni almost grabbed his hat-trick but his free kick hit the post and away to safety.
The Celts will be looking to bounce back when they travel to Brackley on Saturday.
