Experienced Farsley Celtic defender/midfielder Lewis Turner has been recalled from his loan spell at Ossett United and will go straight into the matchday squad against Chester FC tomorrow.

Lewis is yet to feature for the Celts this season after suffering an injury before pre-season began. He returned to full training over Christmas and has played the last six games while on loan at Ossett United to gain much-needed match fitness.

His recall from Ossett comes after Bradford City recalled in-form wing back Noah Wadsworth from his loan spell at The Citadel following injuries in their squad.

Farsley Celtic Director of Football Pav Singh said: “Noah has consistently excelled for us, so it’s no surprise he’s been called back.

“Additionally, we’ve recalled Lewis from loan after completing six full 90-minute games at Ossett. The management team, David Brown and Paddy Miller, have praised Lewis’s performances and professionalism, and I want to express my gratitude to them for facilitating his loan.”

Head coach Clayton Donaldson praised Wadsworth’s ‘exceptional’ contributions during his time at The Citadel, but described the return of versatile defender/midfielder Turner as a ‘massive boost’.

“He’s got half a dozen games under his belt at Ossett and it’s great news that he is coming back to us fully fit,” said the gaffer. “He’s a very experienced player and always gives 100%, so that’s a plus for us as we enter an important run of games.”

Wadsworth made 11 starts for the Celts and two substitute appearances, scoring twice. Turner has so far made 148 appearances for The Celts.

Yesterday The Celts announced that loanee forward Dylan Youmbi had returned to parent club Bradford City and had then joined Scunthorpe United on loan for the rest of the campaign.
