“We can’t wait for Saturday.” That’s the message from assistant coach Danny Ellis ahead of our crunch National League North clash against Gloucester City at The Citadel.

The match is an important one as we enter a busy festive period when we face a festive double header against Scunthorpe United, followed by a tricky trip to Curzon Ashton early in the New Year.

Danny said while it was disappointing to lose at Tadcaster in the West Riding County Cup midweek, continuing our seven-match unbeaten run in the league was the priority.

“We’re back to the league on Saturday with a big game at home against Gloucester, and our aim has to be to continue our unbeaten run,” Danny added.

“It’s massive. We know they’ve just beaten Curzon. It’s going to be a really difficult game but we are in really good form, particularly in the league. The lads are chomping at the bit for that one.

“It was a cautious one against Tadcaster, as we had to manage people’s minutes. Our main priority is the league, it’s our bread and butter and we’re doing really well. We want to keep that form going. We can’t wait for Saturday.”
Danny said gaffer Clayton Donaldson had picked up a knock after rolling his ankle on Tuesday but was hopeful he would be fit for Saturday.
Gloucester come into the game following a 3-0 win over play-off chasers Curzon Ashton on Tuesday night.
