Farsley Celtic are pleased to announce the signing of 18-year-old attacking midfielder Theo Chapman from EFL League One Club Barnsley.
The exciting young prospect made his debut for Barnsley’s first team on 26 November 2022, coming on as an 86th-minute substitute in a 3–0 win over Crewe Alexandra in an FA Cup match at Oakwell.
Long-term Farsley Celtic fans can be forgiven for thinking Theo looks vaguely familiar. That’s because his dad, Gary Chapman, was a first team player a coach for Farsley Celtic in the 1990s.
Farsley Celtic director of football, Pav Singh, said: “I am delighted to have Theo on board with us. He is a creative attacking midfielder who will give us extra options.
“We have been hit with a number of injuries at the moment and Theo will initially babe here for a month, with a possibility of extending his stay.”
Theo’s dad Gary actually coached Pav when he played for the Celts – a real case of football going full circle!
The signing is subject to FA approval.
