David Pickering started his new job yesterday – and he’s already getting stuck into his new role.
David has always been good with his hands and in his last role he helped maintain three council-run swimming pools in Leeds.
“My previous job will stand me in good stead for my work at Farsley Celtic,” he says. “I’ll be doing a little bit of everything here at The Citadel: repairs, painting and general maintenance.
“The job came up and it seemed like a challenge I would relish. I would like to put as much into this place as I can. Lots of people come to The Citadel and the clubhouse, and not just on match days. I’d like to keep the place in good order for everyone.”
David, 63, lives in Armley and is married with four children.
Chairman Paul Barthorpe said: “David’s vast wealth of directly transferable experience, his wide scope of knowledge, practical capabilities and his locality to the club made him the stand out candidate for the role. He understands our community led mentality and how we want to improve things here at the club.
“I think his presence will be noticed almost immediately and as his role will be integral as part of a continual improvement process across the whole site.”
Welcome to the Farsley Celtic family!
