We are pleased to announce the signing of Michael Acquah on a short-term loan from Huddersfield Town!

19-year-old Michael Acquah joined Huddersfield Town in summer 2021 from Southend Manor Farm, originally signing as a scholar. With a rapid rise at the Club, the young goalkeeper signed his first professional contract in November 2022.

Having played for the B Team on a regular basis and trained extensively with the First Team, Acquah has spent time out on loan previously with Emley AFC, Brighouse Town and Sheffield FC.

Farsley chairman Paul Barthorpe said: “Michael has been signed to provide short term cover following Zan’s international call up, and we didn’t want to disrupt Harry Allen’s progression and development by recalling him from loan, where he is progressing well.

This was always the preferred strategy and is a new experience for me, having to cover players on international week!”

Pav Singh Director of football commented: “Michael is a highly talented young player, and fits our strategy of signing and loaning in young hungry players from teams higher in the footballing pyramid.

Having done the due diligence as part of our scouting process, we are fully confident he can come in and do a great job until Zan’s return!”

Welcome to Farsley, Michael!
