Good afternoon,

I hope this update finds you all enjoying the summer, and also enjoying what is a positive start to the season for us!

I think we can all agree the hard work put in over the summer months in terms of recruitment, pre-season training and team building is paying early dividends, and with Clayton and his management team in place I am confident that the team will continue to develop and gel together and give us what could potentially be our strongest season yet.

Hopefully you have also noticed the quality of the pitch this year has been significantly improved from previous seasons. To assist the new style of play Clayton wants to play, we have invested heavily on this area of operation and with the superb work done by Paul Glover, he has got it looking better than I have ever seen it.

The new match day food offerings we have created, under the expert abilities of Rob Winterbottom, have been getting some very positive ratings so far this season! If you haven’t tried them yet I urge you to give them a go, they have been described as:

“Some of the best scran I’ve had at a football match in years!”

To make it easier for you to get your hands on these, we have created a double serving window in the kitchen to allow food to be served much faster!

We are still awaiting the council’s full feedback on the pre-planning application we have made, we were expecting this early August but with holidays etc, we are still awaiting the council’s final feedback. The information we have had from them so far has been positive and the issues they have raised were anticipated and not of major concern. We are hoping that in the next couple of weeks we will have something final from them which will allow us to proceed with the full planning application! As soon as this happens I will feed it back to you.

You will also begin to notice many of the ground boards around the pitch changing, and a number of new partnerships being announced; this is because we have now taken on an individual to focus solely on our commercial and business activities. So if you have any interest or simply want to know what options are available we would be happy to hear from you at: commercial@farsleyceltic.com

We are also looking to recruit a part-time events and functions co-ordinator to manage our existing activity, but also to create and drive new ideas and events. If you are interested please contact us at: chairman@farsleyceltic.com

That leads me nicely onto a reminder that Sunday 10th September is our inaugural “Farsley Celtic Legends Match”, which should be a great day and good fun for all involved! So please get yourselves down and see some of our former players and managers hopefully not cramping up in the first 5 minutes!
