Farsley Celtic will travel to promotion hopefuls Chester on Saturday as the Celts continue their fight for survival in the National League North.
Following the postponement of our fixture with Blyth Spartans on Easter Monday, the Celts are on the road for the second match in a row and are hosted by a side who sit third in the table, seven points off the top.
The Celts currently sit in 20th place, one place and point above the drop zone. However Russ Wilcox’s side also have a game in hand due to the previously mentioned Blyth fixture which was postponed.
Farsley will have their work cut out this weekend as they face one of the form teams in the league in Chester who are currently unbeaten in five and are coming off the back of a 2-1 win away at Southport.
The two sides have met twice this season already, both at the Citadel in the league as well as the FA Trophy. In the former the visitors walked away with all three points with a 2-0 win, however the Celts were victorious in the Cup after winning 5-4 on penalties after the two sides played out a 2-2 draw in normal time.
TEAM NEWS
The Celts will still be without Luke Parkin and Bobby Johnson for this match and for the rest of the season as both players continue to recover from season ending injuries.
Isaac Assenso also continues his recovery after an injury sustained whilst on loan at Guiseley.
