Farsley Celtic are in cup action this Sunday as they travel to play Republica Internationale in the second round of the West Riding County Cup.
Farsley will be looking to carry their outstanding league form into their cup fixture this Sunday after thrashing Huddersfield Amateur Reserves 13-0 last time out, to extend their winning streak in the league to seven.
Despite Republica being in the division above Farsley, captain Lauren Rigby is confident ahead of the game.
“With the squad that we’ve got this season, we should give any team a run for their money,” she said.
“We’ve got a mixture of old, experienced heads alongside young and spritely players, giving us a good chance at the title, or at least reaching the later rounds.
“Republica are a team who like to enjoy their football, so I am looking forward to our encounter.”
Rigby also believes the cup provides a platform for the team to gel further and is determined to fight on all fronts this season.
“As a fairly new team, with recent signings, the more we play together, the more we build.
“I could not be prouder of the team, and I am sure they will continue to shine in both league and cup competitions.”
