Farsley Celtic was formed in 1908 by a group of local village lads. In their infancy the club played in local leagues and Hospital Cups. In the 1920's the club moved to a more permanent ground at Red Lane, opposite Farsley Celtic Cricket Club. After the Second World War the club purchased their current ground from the local council, where they played their first match in 1948 against Frickley Athletic 1908: Club is formed by a bunch of “local village lads”
