New signing Nathan Cartman scored just 10 minutes after his return to the club on a permanent basis, after a previous loan spell earlier this year.
The frontman was cleared to play earlier this morning following James Walshaw’s decision to move onto pastures new. Fellow striker Adam Priestley netted in the second half to seal the victory.
After the ex-Darlington frontman had given the Celts and early lead, Kyle Trenerry made an impressive save to deny Gregory an equaliser for Stafford.
Then on the half-hour mark, Farsley almost doubled their lead as Brown produced a heart-in-mouth moment as he almost sliced a clearance into his own goal but the Celts remained just one goal ahead at the interval.
The Celts looked lively in the second half and on 48 minutes Ryan Watson sent in a dangerous cross in from the right to Chris Atkinson whose header smashed against the upright.
Rangers were still proving a threat in the contest and almost equalised on 55 minutes when Kieren Westwood fired across the goalmouth.
But Farsley were continuing to look the more dangerous side in attack and on the 60 minute mark, Danny Ellis’ header was denied by a goal-line clearance.
However the game was put to bed on 79 minutes as Priestley directed his header perfectly past the goalkeeper for Farsley’s second of the afternoon.
