Farsley Celtic 1-3 Glossop North End - Report
Farsley succumbed to their fourth consecutive defeat. Report by Thomas Ritchie
Glossop North End put in a clinical attacking display to earn all three points against Farsley Celtic at Throstle Nest. Farsley started the game brightly and after some clever one touch football carved out the first opportunity as Leon Osborne shot wide from the edge of the box. Paddy Miller then came to Farsley's rescue as he managed to head Kieran Lugsden's rasping volley over the bar. Just after the half hour mark Farsley took a deserved lead as Aiden Savory headed down Tom Taylor's free-kick to Paul Walker who lashed the ball home on the half volley. Glossop then had a golden opportunity to equalise as Lugsden made an excellent, mazy run before he slid the ball through to Edward Moran who ballooned the ball over the bar from just six yards out. However, Glossop did pull level just moments later when Ben Richardson's tantalising cross was tapped home by Lugsden.
Glossop then took the lead in the second half when 'keeper Andrew Robertson's long ball split the Farsley defence and fell to Jamie Rainford who lobbed Taylor comfortably. With time running out Glossop secured all three points after Richardson gathered a loose ball and slotted home. There was one last chance for The Celts however, with Paul Walker playing in Lewis Nightingale who fired over from 12 yards out.
