Lakeland is a UEFA ‘A’ listed coach who was a first team coach at Curzon Ashton when they gained promotion to the National League North. After working with the Blackburn Rovers Academy for a year, Adam became the manager of Northwich Victoria where he guided them to the EVO-STIK Division 1 North Play-offs despite a nine-point deduction. He then resigned amid financial issues for the club in December 2016 and had been out of football until he was appointed as the Celts Army Manager. In his first season in charge he saw the Celts lift the West Riding County FA Cup, and the following campaign saw the side crowned NPL Champions in April 2019.
