Russ Wilcox appointed experienced coach Steve Thornber as his Assistant Manager in March 2022.

Before embarking on a coaching career, Thornber made over 300 senior appearances across 15 years as a player, spending time with Halifax Town, Swansea City, Blackpool, Scunthorpe United and Bradford Park Avenue.

He has gone on to coach at several professional football clubs, such as Rotherham United and Bradford City.
