Farsley Celtic face an FA Cup Third Qualifying Round clash with Wythenshawe Town today with the fixture set to be televised on the BBC

It’s a huge occasion for both clubs, with the winner of the tie receiving over £5,800 in prize money, as well as a place in the Fourth Qualifying Round of the FA Cup for the first time in their history, the first time for the Celts since their reformation in 2010.

The tie is set to take place at Wythenshawe’s Ericstan Park in front of the BBC cameras, with the match being moved back to a 12:30 kick-off in order to be broadcast live on BBC iPlayer, BBC Red Button as well as the BBC Sport website with coverage set to begin shortly before kick-off.

Pav Singh’s side come into the fixture off the back of a narrow 1-0 defeat to Leamington in the National League North last weekend where a second half Anthony Lynn header was all that could separate the two sides in a tight fixture at Alferton Town’s Impact Arena.

Singh, who takes charge of his fifth Farsley fixture today, is relishing the occasion, saying: “We’re really looking forward to this match. The FA Cup is always special, and it’s an opportunity for us to showcase the work we’ve been putting in week after week.

“Wythenshawe Town are a solid side, and we respect the challenge they will bring, but our focus is on sticking to our game plan and playing with the intensity and discipline we’ve been building.

TEAM NEWS

The Celts have no fresh injury worries from last week’s defeat to Leamington. Singh will hope to welcome back Aiden Walker as well as Rudy Misambo who continue to make their recoveries from injury.

WYTHENSHAWE TOWN

Today’s opponents currently occupy a place in the Northern Premier League Division One West.

Managed by Rory Fallon, Wythenshawe have come through three fixtures already in the competiton, defeating Whitchurch Town 2-1 after their initial fixture finished 1-1 leading to a replay. They then came past Newcastle Benfield with a late goal from Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro after their opposition went down to ten men in the first half.
